Allen was in a bit of a shock to find that his master had been back at the order. As much as everyone was trying to keep him away from the man who he had to deal with for those many years, Allen insisted on meeting with him. He needed to talk to the man who had acted as a brutal father for so long and then out and out disappeared on him. He found the room in which Cross was staying in opened the door, took a deep breath, shut the door behind him and began questioning him.
"So why are you here master?" Allen stood behind Cross a bit. Cross was looking out a window, one hand behind his back, the other on the cigarette in his mouth.
Without hesitation Cross turned around to land a hand across Allen's face. "Don't question my presence. There's obviously a reason I'm here."
"Uhh...right, so what was it we needed to talk about? Allen took a step backwards after the contact. It was only natural that he was beat by his master, but it was a bit of a surprise.
"I'll tell you in order of importance! I told you not to question me! Now listen..." Cross smacked Allen backwards causing him to fall onto the bed. Cross went on to explain some things Allen would understand right now, and some things he was surely to get questioned about, but he went on all the same.
Allen rubbed his welts, listening intently, hanging on every word out of his master's mouth; however, he couldn't help but feel hurt by his abuse.
Cross continued explaining and talking out the window. The extent of the content of his continuing speech was nothing more to Allen than a list of places he had been, girls he had rendezvoused with and some debt he had been racking up from cigarettes and alcohol surely. He looked back at Allen, blindly rubbing his cigarette out on the windowsill. He caught a glimpse of a tear swelling in Allen's eyes and froze in his speech for a moment tripping over his words. This was unusual of the master to stutter. Allen looked up at Cross. He didn't understand what had caused him to stop. Cross walked over to meet Allen on the bed moving his hand upward in a raised angle, but unknowingly it caused Allen to flinch back, letting a few tears slide down his pale cheeks.
"Allen..." Cross pulled him into a hug. He never intended to hurt the boy, but then again he never thought the boy would have been this soft. "I'm sorry Allen..." He kissed Allen's slapped cheek gently before pulling away some.
Allen lost it a bit. He couldn't believe that his master had just left him and then come back out of nowhere and acted as though he was never gone. He began to sob endlessly into Cross's uniform. He could feel his shoulder becoming soaked, but the emotional boy's tears wouldn't bother him too much. Cross pulled Allen in closer.
Allen muttered through breathless sobs, "Stop...crying Allen...you look stupid...when you ...cry..."
"Allen..." Cross pulled away with a smirk looking into Allen's eyes. With the connection from the eye contact, he smacked Allen's other cheek. "Don't say that about yourself." He pulled him back into a comforting hug and let a small smile spread across his face.
